TODAY'S NEWS: The little suburb I live in rarely gets mentioned in the news. Today, however, there was an explosion and ammonia leak. The worst part (because it affected ME) was that it closed the main highway through town in both directions for hours, causing a commuter traffic mess that rippled outward for miles. Rather than fight traffic, I asked a friend if I could drop by unexpectedly. The answer was yes (thanks again!), and I spent a couple enjoyable hours visiting, instead of inching along in stop-and-go traffic.
The reason I'm telling you all this (I really do have a reason), is to mention that while I have comics scripted for a couple weeks in advance, I usually don't have them assembled until the night before. Today was a perfect example of why it would be better to have a reserve, but I can fall back on option #2: Intermission! Yes, today's comic doesn't advance the story, but it amused me. And it was VERY easy to put together. Don't worry; we'll be back to learn more about Charlene on Monday.
Somehow I'd missed seeing a page of reviews of my comic on the Photowebcomics site! Readers say some very complimentary things; thanks to everyone who posted these comments! I'm very pleased that you're enjoying the comic, and I hope your amusement continues...
