TODAY'S NEWS: Have you set your Goals, defined your Projects and developed your To-Do Lists for 2007? Me neither. But I have been thinking about doing just that, which is nearly as good.
For example, I was reviewing the content I hope to distribute next year; the Webcomic (including Vote Incentive Bonus Comics and Today's News posts, like this one), the Newsletter (with The Tip of the Week, HOROSCOPE OF MYSTERY!, and Advice Column), the Eldritch Stories fiction, and short Animated Films. I then considered all the ways that Fans could interact with Ask Dr. Eldritch this year: Easter Egg Contest, Spot The Muck Up Contest, Fan Art Contest, Various other Contests & Giveaways (e.g. Write The Dialog, Vote Incentive Puzzles), the Gift Shop, the Frappr Map, Online Chats, and of course, comments on the LJ portal. Seems like a lot, doesn't it? Especially since most webcomics only come with a forum and a place to buy t-shirts.
Although there are a number of ways for Readers to participate, I can't help but notice that some of these options haven't garnered much interest. Because we at Ask Dr. Eldritch are very Customer Oriented, I'd put forth the question: What do you want to see and do? We've already considered "Ask Dr. Eldritch: The Movie," and "Eldritch! " (the Broadway musical), and EldritchQuest, the MMORPG (alternate title: "World of Eldritchcraft" which would have the really cool acronym: WOE), or "Grand Theft Eldritch" the videogame, and Eldritch Toys, the complete line of Action Figures. And given time and resources, I'd do all of them. But perhaps you have some ideas that aren't so huge. Anything that you've been wishing was available?
