TODAY'S NEWS: For my International Readers (or as the British would say, Readres), in 1999 the US issued $1 coins with the image of Sacagawea on them. For a number of reasons, nobody actually uses them (not the least of which is that hardly anyone agrees on how to pronounce "Sacagawea"). So even though these coins are legal tender, if an American got one back from a purchase, he or she might ask for a "real dollar" instead. We fear change.
